This tool allows to convert an observable value and compare it to the nominal AstroGeo22 solution and to the previously published geological data points. There is one entry in this form :
The observable value with its uncertainty (negative and positive). There are several choices for this value :
– time (in Ga). In this case, the output will be the nominal AstroGeo22 solution.
– precession frequency ( in arcsec/yr)
– precession period ( in kyr)
– semi-major axis of the Moon (i.e. Earth-Moon distance), in Earth Radius ( RE = 6378.1366 km)
– semi-major axis of the Moon (i.e. Earth-Moon distance), in 1000 km
– length of the solar day ( in hours)
– obliquity of the Earth ( in degrees)
Once the time and observable are set, clicking on the “Add points” button will both : convert the observable in all the other observable quantities using the nominal AstroGeo22 solution, and plot the data point (in red) together with the nominal AstroGeo22 solution (with its interval uncertainty), and with all the available other published geological data points. The plot can be panned and zoomed. The final plot can be saved in various formats (pdf, png, svg), ready for inclusion in a presentation or publication.
